Chinos For Women - The Right Shoes |
It has been said that by far the most noticed part of a person's wardrobe is what we wear on our feet. It seems that people take a lot of notice of our shoes, even if they give them only a passing glance. This almost subliminal understanding is a phenomenon apreciated by most women, and maybe not too many men. At the basic level, we need to make sure that, whatever we have on our feet, they are very clean and not too worn. However, 'new' is sometimes not cool, as it all depends upon the circumstances. Of course, women are at the front of fashion consciousness, usually daring to try combinations and colors that would make the men shrink into the pack! We want to stand out a little, and show some individuality by wearing the right shoes for women's chinos.

If you have ever been present at a typical men-style business meeting, you'll know what I mean. A very standard cut of Chino and generic golf sweat-shirt forms the unspoken, but definitely agreed uniform for modern man in the work place. It's hard not to think of a roomful of clones, but that's being a little unkind. The basis of this generic 'look', is of course the chinos, but this needn't be the case. Chinos are not inherently boring, it all depends on their style and those all-important accessories - the shoes! We already know that the shoes are the first thing that registers in the minds of people we meet, even if they are not aware of it, so what kind of shoe goes with ladies chinos.
First of all, it has to be said that the range of styles available in chino pants for women is far superior to that available to men, which is an interesting fact in itself. Perhaps women are more willing to explore the possibilites, or need more variation in their dress code. Whatever the reason, this helps a lot when choosing shoes. Even though the huge variety fo pants out there can fit any occasion, it's a fact that just one style of chino can also fit more than one occasion, just by choosing a different pair of shoes. Pure white sneakers look fantastic with almost any color, and also deck shoes. Some neutral colors can be worn generally, but take care with brighter colors - we don't want them to clash! In a business environment, leather is always a good choice, either in brown or black. It's definitely not chic to have shiny leather shoes (unless patent), but rather a softer, good quality pair with a silky sheen.
